Programme Objective:

Entrepreneurship and leadership in education research inculcates learning and research culture for aspiring entrepreneurs’ educators, educational administrators and leaders. In entrepreneurship education, innovations are expected in entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial intentions among students, teaching strategies and learning styles, risk in entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship.  Leadership in education unravel research issues and problems in educational leadership, governance, policy and planning, school and resource management, knowledge management, information management, quality management, higher education management, ethics in educational management, and personnel management. High impact findings will benefit educators, administrators and leaders with theoretical and practical knowledge and innovations in niche areas that allow them to contribute significantly to the improvement and excellence of education as well as to nation building.

Programme Objective:

The well being and good mental health of a community is an important agenda in any society.  Counselling and guidance services and psychological interventions are needed to both prevent and treat maladaptive behaviours. Thus research on understanding the psychological aspects of various groups of people. Other efforts include identifying their needs and status though psychological assessments. Research focussing on training competent counsellors and developing models to help practicing counsellors are also given attention to. The findings of these studies help to better understand the nature of various groups of human beings and how they are psychologically affected by environment and situations. While the research output in terms of models and intervention strategies provide alternatives for the helping services.

Programme Objective:

Technical and vocational education is an integral part of general education relating to occupations and workplaces in various sectors of economic and social life. The aims of technical and vocational education research programme is to meeting the educational challenges of developing future workforce of the country as well as to improve the engagement, achievement and transition of students, practitioners and dissemination of knowledge derived from scientifically based research of technical and vocational education and training. With substantial experience and success in agriculture, business, entrepreneurship, home economics, and management of technical and vocational and training, the research team is educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations,  with rigorous research methodologies in meeting the needs of student and professional, locally and at a distance.

Programme Objective:

Human resource development, extension and continuing education programmes are important for nation development. The aim of this research programme is to provide significant findings on issues pertaining to developing quality human resource. Quality human resource, educated through adult, extension and continuing education, are needed to propel nation development. The research programme focuses on the process of enhancing learning and performance in individual, group, and organizational contexts through extension and continuing professional education, career development, training and development, organizational development, community development and lifelong learning. The research provides stakeholders with continuous assessment of the nation human resource performance and justifies the billions of dollars invested on the education of the nation human resources.

Programme Objective:

The aim of education is to nurture potential to the fullest. A multitude of factors, including psychological, social and intellectual might enhance or hinder the development of potentials. Manipulation of these psychosocial factors, especially among at risk populations, is crucial to determine a nation’s future human and financial capitals. PEaCE members have been involved in research pertaining to helping children and youth overcome barriers in realizing their potentials through multi-disciplinary approach. Based on the belief that everyone has potentials, PEaCE strives towards providing solutions through continuous research and development. We hope that through the network of scholarship and innovative research, new knowledge can be generated towards ensuring a caring educational environment for our younger generation.

Programme Objective:

It is essential to transform the educational landscape through innovative practices in teaching-learning for the 21st century classrooms. This research programme is deeply rooted in the scholarship of teaching and learning and its research revolves mainly around the niche areas of ICT as a pedagogical tool; teaching and learning strategies; teacher professional development; students’ learning styles; preparation of in-service and pre-service teachers; and classroom (traditional and virtual) and programme assessment. The researchers are committed to finding ways of achieving better learning outcomes through innovative teaching and learning projects carried out in collaboration with individuals and groups from both the public and private sectors.  The research findings will be beneficial to the country in terms of producing high quality human capital. Our programme is unique as it is supported by outstanding researchers from various disciplines who are not only constantly seeking ways to transform the educational landscape, but to ensure that these transformations can be sustained for the future generations.
