CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION

Introduction
The programme aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practices relevant to the field of Curriculum and Instruction. Through this programme students will analyze the latest knowledge of the related theories and their applications in Curriculum and Instruction. The programme aims at individuals who want to enhance their scholarships in Curriculum and Instruction.

Admission Requirements
Candidates should have a Bachelor degree from a university recognized by the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Candidates should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of not less than 2.75 or equivalent. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.75 but not less than 2.50 or equivalent can be considered if they have 3 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.50 but not less than 2.25 or equivalent can be considered if they have 5 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree.

Master of Education (M. Ed.) Degree Requirements
The Master of Education degree is conferred to graduate students who have met the following requirements:

1. Maintain a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.00.
2. Successfully complete all courses (36 credits) as specified by the student's academic advisors within the time specified by the Graduate School Office.
3. Pass a comprehensive examination at the end of the program

The degree requires a student to complete a total of 36 credits that cover 24 credits of compulsory courses and 12 credits of elective courses. The compulsory courses comprised of the following:

TEACHING OF ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Introduction
The programme aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practices relevant to the field of Teaching of English as a Second Language. Through this programme students will analyze the latest knowledge of the related theories and their applications in Teaching of English as a Second Language. The programme aims at individuals who want to enhance their scholarships in Teaching of English as a Second Language.

Admission Requirements
Candidates should have a Bachelor degree from a university recognized by the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Candidates should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of not less than 2.75 or equivalent. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.75 but not less than 2.50 or equivalent can be considered if they have 3 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.50 but not less than 2.25 or equivalent can be considered if they have 5 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree.

A candidate applying for a Master’s degree in TESL must pass an admission interview conducted by the Faculty.

Master of Education (M. Ed.) Degree Requirements
The Master of Education degree is conferred to a graduate student who satisfies the following requirements:

1. Maintain a cumulative GPA of not less 3.00.
2. Successfully complete all courses (36 credits) as specified by the student's academic advisors within the time specified by the Graduate School Office.
3. Pass a comprehensive examination at the end of the program

The degree requires a student to complete a total of 36 credit of coursework that cover 24 credits of compulsory courses and 12 credits of elective courses. The compulsory courses comprised of the following:

The programme aims at individuals who want to enhance their scholarships in Guidance and Counselling.

Candidates should have a Bachelor degree from a university recognized by the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Candidates should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of not less than 2.75 or equivalent. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.75 but not less than 2.50 or equivalent can be considered if they have 3 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree. OR

A candidate with a CGPA of 2.50 but not less than 2.25 or equivalent can be considered if they have 5 years of related working experience after having obtained a Bachelor degree.
