Introduction



Counseling clinic provides professional counseling services covered by the ethics of confidentiality to all staff and students of the University Putra Malaysia for free . There are some lecturers psychologist registered under the Malaysian Board of Counsellors helpful UPM staff and students in particular. Various types of services are offered including:

a.  Individual Counseling ;

b . Group Counseling ;

c . Motivational programs , and

d . Administration of Psychological Test Profiles


There are two counseling clinics provided that:


1.  Individual Counseling Clinic

2.  Community Counseling Clinic

  


The purpose of Counseling

1 .  provide information

      The client is often associated with lack of information

2 .  Provides insight

      Help clients understand more about yourself ( immersing themselves and the environment )

      Help clients understand themselves is the key to the problems faced

3 .  Support

      Clients need emotional support , physical and intimacy that is expected to reduce the burden of the problem

4 .  Conflict resolution

      Reduce tension and hostility between the two individuals ( the )

      Help them to accept differences and find a way to achieve a profitable

5 .  Making the decision

      Helping clients make a decision as there are clients who frequently have difficulty making decisions

      Psychology Lecturer to discuss with the client before a decision is taken by the client.
