Dr. Zoharah Omar mendapat pendidikan peringkat menengah di Sekolah Tinggi Kluang, Johor. Beliau memperolehi ijazah sarjana muda Undang-Undang di Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, ijazah Sarjana dalam Pembangunan Sumber Manusia di Universiti Putra Malaysia dan ijazah Doktor Falsafah dalam bidang Psikologi dengan pengkhususan dalam bidang Psikologi Organisasi dan Industri di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Sebelum memulakan perkhidmatan sebagai Pensyarah di Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional dan Pendidikan Lanjutan, Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan, UPM pada tahun 2003, beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai Pengurus Undang-Undang dan Sumber Manusia di Elektrisola (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, sebuah syarikat pengeluaran multinasional selama tujuh tahun. Beliau bertanggungjawab dalam perancangan dan pembangunan sumber manusia strategik serta mengendalikan kes-kes perhubungan industri. Beliau juga sering bekerjasama dengan Kementarian Sumber Manusia untuk berkongsi pengalaman dengan industri dalam pembentukan polisi gangguan seksual di tempat kerja. Beliau juga pernah dilantik sebagai Panel Mahkamah Industri bagi mewakili pihak majikan. Sebelum itu, beliau juga pernah berkhidmat sebagai Peguam di sebuah syarikat peguambela dan peguamcara di Kuala Lumpur selama dua tahun. Beliau juga pernah berkhidmat sebagai Pegawai Eksekutif di Jabatan Pengawasan Pasaran, Suruhanjaya Sekuriti. Beliau merupakan pegawai penyiasat dan pendakwaraya untuk kes-kes yang melibatkan industri sekuriti serta terlibat dalam pembentukan polisi dan prosedur untuk perlesenan di bawah Akta Industri Sekuriti 1983.

Sepanjang perlantikan beliau sebagai Pneysarah, beliau telah terlibat dalam beberapa kajian dan pembentangan kertas kerja peringkat nasional dan antarabangsa. Di samping itu, beliau terlibat aktif dalam kerja-kerja kemasyarakatan seperti menyampaikan ceramah umum kepada para graduan berkenaan penulisan resume, menghadiri temuduga kerja serta persediaan ke alam pekerjaan. Beliau juga pernah terlibat dalam beberapa kerja rundingan. Kini beliau merupakan seorang perunding dan pakar rujuk dalam bidang sumber manusia di sebuah syarikat multinasional.

Dr. Zoharah Omar completed her high school at the High School, Kluang, Johor. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Laws at the International Islamic University, her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development at University Putra Malaysia and her Ph.D degree in Psychology specializing in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia .

Before her appointment as a Lecturer in the Department of Professional Development and Extension Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2003, she has worked as the Legal and Human Resource Manager in a multinational manufacturing company for seven years. She was responsible for the strategic human resource planning and development as well as handling industrial relations matters. She was also actively involved in assisting the Ministry of Human Resource to promote in-house sexual harassment policy to industries. She was also the Industrial Court Panel representing employers. Prior to that, she worked as a lawyer in an advocate and solicitors firm in Kuala Lumpur and has also worked as the Market Supervision Division Executive at the Securities Commission. She was the investigating and prosecuting officer handling securities industry cases and was involved in the development of policy and procedure for licensing under the Securities Industry Act 1983.

Since her appointment as a Lecturer, she has been involved in several researches and paper presentation activities at both national as well as international level. Besides that, she is actively involved in community services such as delivering public speech to graduates on resume writing, job interview and preparation for employment. She is also involved in consultancy work, and she is currently a consultant and a resource person to a multinational company.
