Profesor Madya Dr. Sidek Mohd Noah telah berjuang selama 25 tahun dalam dunia kaunseling sebagai bidang pengajian dan praktis. Dengan mengaplikasi bidang pengkhususan sebagai perantara, beliau telah menyumbang secara ilmiah dalam beberapa aspek kaunseling khususnya Kaunseling Kerjaya dan Penilaian dalam Kaunseling. Kini beliau memegang jawatan Timbalan Dekan (Akademik), Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan. Beliau juga merupakan Ahli, Lembaga Penasihat Kaunselor Malaysia; Fello, Penyelidik Institut Belia Negara; Pengamal Berlesen dan Kaunselor Berdaftar; Ahli Majlis Persatuan Kaunseling Malaysia; dan Ketua Editor, Jurnal PERKAMA. Selain mengajar beliau juga telah menghasilkan beberapa penemuan baru yang berkaitan dengan ilmu kaunseling. Beliau telah memperkenalkan satu pendekatan baru dalam kaunseling yang dikenali sebagai ‘Kaunseling Berorientasikan Matlamat’ dan ‘Model Perkembangan Kerjaya Bersepadu’. Beliau telah menerbitkan lapan buah bertajuk Perkembangan Kerjaya: Teori dan Praktis, Pengujian dan Penilaian dalam Kaunseling, Reka Bentuk Penyelidikan: Falsafah, Teori dan Praktis, Pembinaan Modul: Bagaimana Membina Modul Latihan dan Modul Akademik, Muslim Religiosity and Personality Indexing: Implication for Nation Building, Handbook on Social Skills and Social Values in Technical Education and Vocational Training, Manual Ujian Malaysian Educators Selection Inventory (MEdSI) dan Panduan Rasmi MEdSI . Beliau juga telah berjaya menghasilkan Inventori Personaliti Sidek (IPS), Inventori Minat Kerjaya Sidek (IMKS), dan Inventori Nilai Pekerjaan Sidek (INPS) dan Inventori Personaliti Warna (IPW). Kesemua ujian-ujian ini telah digunakan secara meluas di Malaysia khususnya dalam kaunseling kerjaya. Dalam bidang latihan dan pengembangan, beliau aktif mengendalikan latihan dan pengembangan dalam pelbagai kapasiti, di peringkat kebangsaan dan antarabangsa. Ketika ini  beliau mengetuai tiga projek utama di peringkat kebangsaan iaitu sebagai Pengerusi, Ahli Jawatankuasa Pembinaan Ujian MEdSI; Pengerusi, Ahli Jawatankuasa Perunding Pembinaan Ujian Malaysian University Selection Inventory (MUnSyI) dan Ketua Projek kajian Exit Survey di bawah pembiayaan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia.

Associate Professor Dr. Sidek Mohd Noah has dedicated 25 years of his life in pursuing the field of counselling as a field of study and practice. By employing his areas of specialization as the vehicle, he has contributed scholarly in all the aspects of counselling especially career counselling and appraisals in counselling. Currently he serve as the Deputy Dean (Academic), Faculty of Educational Studies. He is also serve as Member, Malaysian Counsellor Advisory Board; Fellow, Research Institute of National Youth; Registered and Certified Counsellor Practitioner; Member of Malaysia Counselling Association Board; and Chief Editor of PERKAMA Journal. Apart from teaching, he has some new findings on counselling to his credit. He has introduced a new approach in counselling namely the Goal Orientated Counselling and Integrated Career Development Model. He has published eight books title Career Development: Theory and Practice, Testing and Evaluation Counselling: Theory and Application, Research Design: Philosophy, Theory and Practice, Module Development: How to develop Training and Academic Module, Muslim Religiosity and Personality Indexing: Implication for Nation Building, Handbook on Social Skills and Social Values in Technical Education and Vocational Training, Manual for Malaysian Educators Selection Inventory (MEdSI) and MEdSI: Official Guidelines. He has also successfully developed Sidek Personality Inventory (IPS), Sidek Vocational Interest Inventory (IMKS) and Sidek Vocational Value Inventory (INPS), and Colour Personality Inventory (IPW). All of these inventories are widely used among the counselors in Malaysia particularly in career counselling. In the field training and development field, he is active in conducting training courses in various capacities, both nationally and internationally. Currently he was heading three major projects at national level that are Chairman of MEdSI Test Development Committee, Chairman of Malaysian University Selection Inventory (MUnSyI) Test Development Committee, and Head of Research Project for ‘Exit Survey’ sponsored by Ministry of Higher Learning, Malaysia.
