Dr. Rosnaini Mahmud memperoleh pendidikan rendah dan menengah di Methodist Girls School, Kuantan Pahang. Beliau memperoleh ijazah M. Sc. dalam bidang Teknologi Pendidikan (UPM) pada tahun 1998 dan ijazah Doktor Falsafah (UKM) dalam bidang Sumber dan Teknologi Maklumat pada tahun 2006. Beliau berpengalaman sebagai seorang guru selama 13 tahun dan pensyarah maktab perguruan selama 5 tahun sebelum dilantik sebagai pensyarah Teknologi Pendidikan di Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan, Universiti Putra Malaysia mulai tahun 2000. Beliau merupakan ahli seumur hidup Persatuan Teknologi Pendidikan Malaysia dan terlibat secara aktif dengan aktiviti-aktiviti perundingan dan latihan guru-guru dalam perkhidmatan di bawah program anjuran Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia khususnya dalam penggunaan Televisyen Pendidikan serta Teknologi Maklumat & Komunikasi dalam pendidikan. Beliau turut terlibat dalam aktiviti-aktiviti perundingan dan penyelidikan berkaitan reka bentuk, penghasilan dan penggunaan media serta reka bentuk, pembangunan dan penilaian multimedia dan pembelajaran elektronik.

Dr. Rosnaini Mahmud received her primary and secondary education at the Methodist Girls School, Kuantan, Pahang. She obtained a M. Sc. degree in the field of Educational Technology (UPM) in 1998 and a doctoral degree (UKM) in Information Technology and Resources in 2006. She was a teacher for 13 years and a teacher training college lecturer for 5 years before being appointed as an Educational Technology lecturer at the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM starting year 2000. She is a life member of the Malaysian Educational Technology Association and is actively involved with consultancy and training activities of in-service teachers under the programs host by the Educational Technology Division, Ministry of Education especially in the use of Educational Television and Information and Communication Technology in education. She is also involved in consultancy and research activities related to designing, production and utilization of media and also in the designing, development and evaluation of multimedia and e-learning.
