Mazanah Muhamad menjawat Profesor dalam Pendidikan Dewasa di Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional & Pendidikan Lanjutan, Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan, dan juga sebagai Ketua, Pendidikan & Perkhidmatan Kanser di Institut Interim Sains Sosial, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Beliau juga ialah Pengarah Bersekutu, Collaborative Education and Research on Cancer (CaEd), Projek UPM-Cornell University. Bekas pelajar Kolej Tunku Khursiah ini mempunyai ijazah Kedoktoran dan Master dalam bidang Pendidikan Dewasa dari North Carolina State University, dan ijazah Bacelor Sains Pertanian dari Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. Fokus penyelidikan Mazanah ialah pendidikan dan pembelajaran dewasa. Sekarang tumpuan siasahnya termasuk pendidikan dan komunikasi kanser. Mazanah telah banyak menghasilkan penerbitan. Bukunya yang terkini ialah Adult and Continuing Education in Malaysia (UPM Press & UNESCO Institute for Education, 2001) dan Designing and Facilitating Adults Learning (pengarang bersama G.L. Carter, UPM Press, 2002). Kepakaran beliau mendapat pengiktirafan di dalam negeri dan peringkat antarabangsa. Pada tahun 2006, Mazanah telah diterima masuk ke International Adult and Continuing Education (IACE) Hall of Fame. Selain dari itu beliau juga penerima beberapa anugerah dan geran. Ini termasuk Fulbright Fellowship di University of Georgia, geran Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) di University of British Columbia, geran Committee for International Research Cooperation in Higher Education (CICHE) di University of Reading, dan North Carolina State University Fellowship. Disamping melalui pengajarannya, Mazanah telah menyumbangkan kepakarannya mengenai Pendidikan Dewasa/Pengembangan melalui peranannya dalam kepimpinan dan khidmat nasihat di pelbagai insitusi dan juga peringkat. Seorang sukarelawan yang aktif, Mazanah merupakan Presiden Pengasas Kanser Network (KanWork). Persatuan ini memberi dedikasi untuk membantu mereka yang menghidap dan menghadapi kanser melalui aktiviti kumpulan sokongan dan program pendidikan.

Mazanah Muhamad is a Professor of Adult Education at Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education, Faculty of Educational Studies and Chair of Cancer Education and Services, Institute of Social Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She is also Associate Project Director, Collaborative Education and Research on Cancer (CaEd), UPM-Cornell University. An alumnus of Kolej Tengku Khursiah, Mazanah holds a Doctoral and Master degrees on Adult Education from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. Mazanah’s research focus is on adult education and learning. Recently her inquiry includes cancer education and support. Mazanah has written numerous books, books chapters, journal articles, as well as other publications on adult education and learning. Her expertise on the subject is recognized both at local and international level. She has been inducted to the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame and recipient of various awards and grants. This includes Fullbright fellowship (University of Georgia), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) grant (University of British Columbia), Committee for International Research Cooperation in Higher Education (CICHE) grant (University of Reading), and North Carolina State University fellowship. To develop her expertise on cancer education and support service, Mazanah recently (2008) spent her sabbatical interning at the School of Nursing, University of Melbourne/Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and the Cancer Council of Victoria. Besides through her teaching, Mazanah had contributed locally on Adult / Extension Education through numerous leaderships and advisory roles at different institutions and levels. An active volunteer, Mazanah is the founding President of Cancer Network (KanWork). The society is dedicated to assisting those with and affected by cancer through peer support and educational intervention.
